Contract Work

We build the tools, so we can set them up for you. If you want a living town, a working population or NPCs that hold a conversation, but would rather spend your time on the rest of your game, we can do the AI setup as contract work.

What we set up

Work is built on CIVIL-AI-SYSTEM and, where you need conversations, CIVIL-DIALOGUE-SYSTEM.

  • Behaviours. Need and work trees for each kind of agent, written with the behaviour tree editor and following the best practice guide, so your team can keep editing them after we hand over.
  • Population. Population regions, spawn rules and schedules, so the right number of people are in the right places at the right time of day.
  • Buildings and items. Buildings, rooms, jobs, items and use spots, wired up to your own art.
  • Interrupts and services. Service points, queues and interrupts, so agents react to the player and each other.
  • Animation. Layer profiles and animation sets mapped to your character rigs.
  • Barks and dialogue. Barks and conversations set up with the Dialogue integration.
  • Performance. Profiling a busy scene and tuning it with rendering groups and the other performance options.
  • Custom work. New actions, requirements or integrations your game needs that the packages do not ship with.

Ways to work with us

OptionGood for
Setup reviewYou have started and want a second pair of eyes on your setup

Every project is different, so get in touch for a quote.

How it works

  1. Get in touch. Tell us about your game, your Unity version and render pipeline, and what you want the AI to do.
  2. Scope. We agree what will be built, what you will provide, and how long it should take.
  3. Build. We work in your project or a copy of it, and share progress as we go.
  4. Hand over. You get the finished setup and a walkthrough, written up so your team can change it without us.

What we need from you

  • Your project, or a cut-down copy with the scenes, characters and art involved
  • A supported Unity version and a licence for each package used (the packages are sold on the Unity Asset Store)
  • A short description of how the characters should behave, even if it is only a list
  • Someone on your side we can ask questions

Get in touch

Join the Discord server and post in the #pre-sales-questions channel. Tell us a little about your game and which option you are interested in.

Terms

Terms such as payment, ownership of the work and NDAs depend on the project and how we are working together, so we agree them with you while scoping. Ask us if you would like to see them first.
